It is over a year since Wilding Butler began work on site and work is progressing.
The roof has been completed and the building is now 100% watertight. Similarly all the new windows are in place and if anyone has checked out the photos posted on this site in April you will have seen the solar panels that were fitted. Those panels will provide electricity for the communal areas and although the supply will not cover all the electricity used, it will go a long way to easing the electricity bill.
The external cladding of the walls is almost completed with all of the insulating bricks in place and these will be covered by either grey metal, yellow render or brick slips providing a modern exterior and new appearance.
Inside is a “hive of activity”. All the flats have been built and the services and utilities are now being brought inside.
A show flat is being prepared although just when it will be ready is not known yet.
We are still aiming to take possession of the completed building towards the end of this year and have recently written to those people who have expressed an interest in being housed in Eliza Mackenzie Court to update them on progress.
